PURPOSE OF THIS STUDY

A cohort study assessing the best way to diagnose rotator cuff tears and patient characteristics that lead to better recovery from rotator cuff tears with either surgery or physical therapy.

This study is a collaborative effort between the Shoulder and Sports services at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and Orthopedic Institute in South Dakota.

STUDY PROGRESS

This study is no longer recruiting new participants.  Follow-up of existing participants is still ongoing.  Thus far, a total of 6 manuscripts have been published that use information gathered from this study.  This section of the website is still under development, but please check back in the coming months for links to these publications and additional updates about this study.
